Kirkbrides Founder and Wedding Planner
Judging by her maiden last name, one could say that this line of work is truly where Valarie Kirkbride Falvey, the owner of Kirkbrides, is meant to be. Her experience in wedding and event planning began in Los Angeles in 2002, when she trained in the world of private mansion events, discovering her career passion. Throughout this time, she was fortunate to travel to work on events in New York, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Cleveland. In 2005 she moved back to Cleveland and established Kirkbrides. Over the years while developing invaluable venue and vendor relationships in the area while working on countless Cleveland weddings, she created a detailed planning process that the entire team uses. 10 years after Valarie returned home to Cleveland, Kirkbrides has grown into a top notch team of event planning professionals dedicated to each and every client need during the planning process and on the wedding day.
Valarie's background in various investment, marketing and project management positions in the corporate world has helped her create a business oriented approach to planning a wedding, utilizing tactics that our professional clients find familiar in their everyday life. Valarie holds a Master of Education degree from John Carroll University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication degree with a Business Minor from Ohio University.
She feels honored to play such a huge role in her clients' personal wedding days!
Allison has been a wedding planner with Kirkbrides since 2009 and has played an integral part in the growth and success of the company. Allison owned an advertising agency for almost ten years before realizing that she was becoming creatively stifled. She decided to take her fascination of weddings and her ability to successfully manage clients and become a wedding planner! She planned many weddings before meeting Valarie, the owner of Kirkbrides. She was fortunate to become a planner with the company in the spring of 2009.
A self described people pleaser, Allison enjoys seeing a bride’s special day come to life through a great deal of hard work and understanding. She relishes in the bond she makes with her brides and their families. She believes that weddings are more than just the outer appearance but also the feeling of warmth and inclusiveness the guests will feel.
Allison holds a Bachelors of Communication degree with minors in Psychology and Sociology from Mount Union College. She considers it an honor and a privilege to be a part of the lives of the wonderful people she meets and believes her job is truly a calling!
Katie has always loved styling and planning the perfect event, but it wasn’t until she planned her own wedding that she discovered her passion for wedding planning.
Katie’s diverse background in journalism, business administration, and political campaign management makes her adept at managing the distinct needs of her clients. Her passion for art and travel has expanded her aesthetic and cultural spectrum, influencing her ability to infuse a wedding with intriguing details that mirror the unique personality of a couple. Her creative flair, calm disposition, and careful attention to detail make Katie an indispensable asset to her clients. She finds great joy in executing their creative visions.
Katie loves to watch the expressions of the bride, groom, and their families throughout their special day. She considers it a privilege to experience the warmth of such irreplaceable moments in their lives.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Art History from The College of Wooster. She joined Kirkbrides in 2014 and is honored to work with an amazing team of creative and talented professionals.
Stephanie has always had a passion for planning and executing a perfect event and takes great pride in creating unique experiences for her clients. After hearing numerous compliments urging her to consider a career as a professional wedding planner, Stephanie joined the Kirkbrides team in 2014.
Stephanie’s favorite thing is seeing the reactions of brides, grooms and their families to their amazing wedding that she helped create – the look on their faces filled with love and happiness is the reason she loves this industry.
With five years of experience in Consulting, Business Operations, Project Management, and Corporate Event Planning Stephanie is thrilled to be able to take the experiences she has built and translate that passion into a career with Kirkbrides.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and a minor in Management from Miami University in Oxford, OH. Stephanie is personable, gets things done, and leaves no detail behind and cannot wait to get to know you and help with your dream wedding!
Senior Wedding Coordinator and Trainer
Janine started out working with Kirkbrides in 2007, assisting on wedding days and writing out her beautiful hand calligraphy on invitations and wedding stationery. Janine was born in England and grew up in Australia, and no one can resist her tremendous charm with that aussie accent. Over the years, her role has progressed to running her own wedding days and helping out every member of our team tremendously with her second to none communication skills and intense organization.
Besides Janine's lead role on wedding days, she has also created a training program for our coordination team, including wedding day etiquette and on the job training.
Janine holds a Bachelor of Communication degree, has experience with just about everything including telecommunications, hospitality, teaching, customer care and fundraising. You name it, she can do it. Janine loves seeing the beauty of love shining through on the wedding days and having the opportunity to touch each family with her assistance on the wedding days.
Liz and Valarie's professional relationship stemmed from a pretty perfect personal relationship! After they discovered they are both OU Bobcats, the two became the best of friends first and then Liz joined Kirkbrides in 2007 as one of our very first assistant coordinators! She worked many weddings with Valarie for three years while she went to school to become a Registered Nurse.
After Liz finished nursing school, she met and married her husband Brian (wedding planned with assistance from Kirkbrides, of course!) and they moved to Texas briefly. She's now back in Cleveland with a brand new baby girl and has taken on yet another role with Kirkbrides - Marketing Assistant. She designs our blog posts and assists with social media, monitors online traffic and interest and helps with operational functions as needed. According to Liz, work is not "work" when it is so much fun-- and what we do at Kirkbrides IS fun!
