Valarie created Kirkbrides Wedding Planning Workshops as a unique learning experience designed to help those interested in wedding planning learn the ins and outs of this exciting career from experienced professionals. A constant stream of inquiries from aspiring planners requesting to shadow and learn this exciting and growing career has shown the demand for this type of program in the Cleveland area. Our innovative and realistic to life classes teach you how to master the creative and technical skills needed to succeed as a professional wedding planner. You’ll learn how to understand your client’s needs, meet and exceed their expectations, create a professional and memorable wedding experience, while adding the layer of magic every bride dreams of.
April 18 – Thursday, 6-9pm - Wedding Planning 101: Wedding planning nuts and bolts including budgets, vendors and venues and planning process structure.
April 25 – Thursday, 6-9pm - Planner Operations: All about Operations, work life balance and expectations including pricing, contracts and finance basics
May 2 – Thursday, 6-9pm – Coordination 101: Itineraries, wedding day management, rehearsals, tools for wedding days, being a leader and gaining confidence from clients
May 7 – Tuesday, 6-9pm - Wedding Design: current trends, best processes to coordinate floral, linens, lighting, rentals, invitations, stationery
May 16 – Thursday, 6-9pm - Planner Marketing: Wedding planner marketing, pictures, Social media and Instagram tips, blogging, getting published
Cost: $150 per workshop or $600 for all 5, Payable by credit card or check
Time: 6-9pm at Borrow Rentals Showroom in Cleveland, Ohio
The class sizes are limited. The workshops are taught by Valarie Falvey, owner of Kirkbrides.

Currently Accepting Resumes for Assistant Coordinator Position
We are looking for a few enthusiastic people interested in weddings and events to join our wedding coordination team.
WHEN: All weddings take place on Saturdays with occasional Fridays and Sundays so candidate must be available on the weekends. Wedding days are between 8-15 hour long workdays and are all different from one another.
WHAT: Our coordinators assist Kirkbrides lead planners on wedding days, help with wedding setup, directing guests, managing vendors, communicating the wedding itinerary to everyone to keep day organized, loading up gifts and other leftover items at the end of the night, having fun and seeing a beautiful and happy day take place!
WHERE: Most weddings take place within the immediate Cleveland area. Some of them take place in the Akron/Canton area or outer edges of Northeast Ohio.
REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will have e-mail access, a cell phone, a driver’s license, ability to map out directions to new places they haven’t been before, a responsible, a motivating attitude and a cheerful, enthusiastic and helpful personality. Our coordinators are required to be extremely dependable to work the dates they are committed to and must have frequent weekend availability. The job does require physical ability to be on your feet for long periods of time. Creativity and knowledge of wedding etiquette a plus.
There is opportunity for advancement from this starting part-time position with our growing small business of independent wedding and event planning.
